16th Bangalore Shorts Film Festival-27 (BSFF-27) is more than a film festival—it's a celebration of cinematic voices, creativity, and independent storytelling. Since its inception in 2012, BSFF has been dedicated to discovering, recognizing, and promoting the work of emerging as well as established filmmakers from India and around the world.
The festival was founded to commemorate the 100 years of Indian cinema and to pay tribute to the invaluable contribution of the Kannada film industry to the growth of Indian cinema. Over the years, BSFF has evolved into a vibrant platform where filmmakers showcase their work, connect with industry professionals, and explore opportunities for collaboration, distribution, and career growth.
BSFF-27 promises to be our most ambitious edition yet. Along with an exceptional selection of films from across the globe, the festival will feature an expanded lineup of industry workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, and networking sessions designed to empower filmmakers at every stage of their journey.

2. Awards for both professional and students category
3. Eligibility: Films participated in earlier editions of Bangalore Shorts Film Festival are not eligible for participation in this year.
Year of production: Jan-2025 onwards
Short Films, Short Documentaries, Short Animation: up-to 60 min (equal or less than 60 min)
Music Video, Ad films: up- to 10 min
Films must be subtitled in English if language is other than English.
4. BSFF-27 stages/process:
Entry submission as per rules & regulations.
Notification of officially selected regular entries by the festival office on 27 May 2027 and the late entries list shall be out on 01 June 2027.
Results of the festival will be declared on 13 June 2027.
Festival Date: 13 June 2027, Bangalore, India.
5. Delegate Registration
• Delegate registration to attend BSFF-27. All shortlisted filmmakers must have registered as delegate to attend the festival. Hospitality charges are applicable for filmmakers & attendees, which include lunch, tea/coffee with cookies & master classes.
• Festival movies screening & workshops followed by award ceremony on 13 June 2027 at Bangalore.
6. The decision of the Jury will be final and can’t be challenged.
7. Bangalore Shorts Film Festival-27 does not take any type financial commitment for the expense incurred on the correspondence by the participant. All Travel, Lodging & Boarding and other miscellaneous expenses will have to be borne by the participant himself for attending the festival. No request for the same will be entertained.
8. Once the film submitted can’t be withdrawn in any circumstances, however festival director reserve the rights to disqualify any film on certain grounds.
9. By submitting movie to Bangalore Shorts Film Festival, filmmaker/producer takes the whole responsibility of copyright issues of music, script and other creative and technical aspects of film.
10. The actual postal charges are applicable for delivery of certificates/trophy/award to those who will be unable to attend the festival which may have to be paid by filmmakers.
