About the Film Festival
The New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival (NZAPFF) serves as a bridge between filmmakers in the Asia Pacific region and New Zealand audiences. Its primary purpose is to create an international film festival platform where filmmakers from the Asia Pacific can showcase their films to New Zealand viewers.
Film awards include new talent awards to actors, directors, producers, and screenwriters, as well as awards for best film, best actor, best documentary, and best director. Awards are not necessarily given every time and depend on the quality of submissions that year; the jury may choose not to present certain awards if standards are not met.
