About the Film Festival
Founded in 2010 by Sandra González (Bysan), Movilfest is an international festival born from the belief that talent is everywhere and everyone should have the opportunity to tell their story. An early champion of mobile filmmaking and digital arts, it promotes creativity and access to artistic expression through technology.
Each edition takes place in a different city or country, connecting creators, cultures, and audiences. Through screenings, workshops, exhibitions, and the EME Awards, Movilfest celebrates emerging talent and new forms of storytelling.
Today, the festival welcomes films created using smartphones, tablets, and artificial intelligence (AI), individually or in combination. Films shot with traditional or professional cameras are not accepted.
Cinema, photography, music and episodic storytelling — all created with the most accessible creative tool ever invented: the mobile device.
Creators from around the world are invited to submit their work and become part of the Movilfest community.

MOVIE
Duration: 2–5 minutes
Accepted genres:

The jury evaluates narrative strength, creativity and visual impact, regardless of production scale or budget.
⏳ 60 SECONDS
Maximum duration: 60 seconds
A creative challenge where ideas must be expressed in one minute or less. This category rewards original concepts, strong visual ideas and concise storytelling.
VERTICAL MINI-SERIES
Format: 8 episodes — 2 to 3 minutes each
This category invites creators to present vertical episodic stories designed for mobile viewing. Projects may function as self-contained mini-series while leaving open the possibility of future seasons or expanded narratives.
MUSIC: Movilfest accepts music-based works in two formats:
MOBILE SESSIONS
Maximum duration: 4 minutes
Original live-session performances recorded with mobile devices.
MUSIC VIDEO CLIP
Maximum duration: 5 minutes
Music videos filmed primarily with mobile devices or created with AI tools.
Original music only. No remixes or covers. The jury evaluates musical impact, creativity, stage presence, visual storytelling and the connection between image and music.
PHOTO
Mobile Photography with Social Impact
This category celebrates powerful images captured with mobile devices or created using AI tools. Works should demonstrate visual strength, originality and the ability to communicate meaningful moments or ideas.
BIG SCREEN
Mobile-shot sequence designed for cinema
This category celebrates the integration of mobile technology into cinematic language. The jury evaluates cinematic vision, narrative strength and visual ambition.
All works must be created using mobile devices or AI tools, exploring new forms of storytelling and visual expression.

1. Creation Tool
All works must be filmed using the camera of a smartphone, tablet, or webcam, or created using Artificial Intelligence tools.
2. Editing & Post-Production
Any editing software may be used, from mobile applications to professional tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar programs.
3. Allowed Accessories
Creators may use external microphones, mobile lenses, lighting equipment, stabilizers, tripods, and other accessories to improve production quality.
4. Evaluation Criteria
The jury evaluates:
• Creativity
• Storytelling
• Visual impact
Technical quality is valued, but authenticity and originality remain essential.
5. Category Requirements
Each category has specific duration limits and rules. Participants should carefully review the category descriptions before submitting their work.

Mobile-shot sequence designed for cinema This category celebrates the integration of mobile technology into cinematic language. Participants must submit a sequence filmed with mobile devices intended to be experienced on the big screen. The jury evaluates cinematic vision, narrative strength and visual ambition.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is permitted.
Music video
Video length ：1 - 5
MUSIC VIDEO
Duration: Maximum of 5 minutes.
This category celebrates visual storytelling and creative direction in music videos, rewarding creativity, narrative strength and the way images enhance the music.
Filming and AI: The music video must be primarily filmed using a mobile phone, tablet or webcam, or created using AI tools. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is permitted.
Original Music:The song must be composed by the participant or their team. Remixes and covers are not allowed.
Creative Freedom: All directing styles are welcome, including narrative, abstract, interpretative and experimental approaches.
Allowed Tools: Professional editing software, such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro, and accessories such as microphones, lenses and lighting are permitted.
