Introduction to the film festival
The Beijing Youth Film Festival was founded in 2014. Approved by the former Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film, and Television and guided by departments such as the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee, it is a large-scale public welfare film cultural event organized by the Beijing Cultural Development Foundation. It is held annually and has successfully been conducted five times. The sixth Beijing Youth Film Festival marked its first restart since 2018 and was incorporated into the Beijing International Film Festival as a related event.
This project is a concrete implementation of the spirit of the 19th and 20th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China and Beijing's 'Several Measures to Promote High-Quality Development of the Capital's Film and Television Industry in the New Era.' With the purpose of 'innovative development, cultivating new talent, creating an environment, and promoting the industry,' it provides young filmmakers with a distinctive platform for showcasing and exchanging ideas, facilitates in-depth communication among young filmmakers, integrates resources, supports their entrepreneurship and employment, promotes the development of the Chinese film industry, and contributes actively to the charm of the National Cultural Center and the prosperity of the capital's cultural undertakings.
The 6th Beijing Youth Film Festival, themed 'New Dimension of Cinema, Youth Creating the Future!', adheres to the working principles of 'grasping direction, focusing on key points, being socially oriented, and maintaining transparency,' and seeks submissions that align with a correct view of history.
This year's Youth Film Festival is based on the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chinese cinema and a critical period of deep structural adjustment in China's film industry. It now widely invites outstanding feature films from the public, focusing on various specialized fields within the film industry. The festival fully encourages young creative talents across different positions, stimulating their creativity and innovation, and aims to use the energy of new youth and new forces to propel Chinese cinema forward and achieve new brilliance.

(1) Film completion time: Works that have obtained a "Film Public Screening Permit" between January 1, 2019 (inclusive) and November 18, 2025.
(2) Film duration: The film should be at least 85 minutes long.
(3) Film director: The director must be under 45 years old (inclusive) in the year of obtaining the "Film Public Screening Permit," and the work must be one of their first three feature films.
(4) Film format: Feature films must conform to DCP standards suitable for cinema screening.
Personal Recommended Projects

(1) Film Completion Time: Works that have obtained a 'Film Public Screening Permit' between January 1, 2019 (inclusive) and November 18, 2025.
(2) Film Duration: The film should be over 85 minutes long.
(3) Eligible Main Creators: Only the first main creator recommended in the submission is eligible. They must be under 45 years old in the year the work obtained the 'Film Public Screening Permit,' and the work must be among their first three projects as the first main creator.
(4) Film Specifications: Feature films must be in DCP format that meets cinema screening standards.
