Introduction to the film festival
accordi @ DISACCORDI - International Short Film Festival welcomes filmmakers, professionals, and enthusiasts from across the world, to share the art of independent short films with the local audience, to entertain and enlighten the festival attendees, to provide filmmakers the opportunity for professional networking and development, and to encourage cultural tourism and film industry development in Naples and the surrounding area in Campania.
accordi @ DISACCORDI is dedicated to fiction and documentary short films, short animated, experimental, and research films. The main aim of the event is to promote and support talented emerging directors, and independent cinematographers, with an eye to new visual languages and new ways of expression resulting from experimentation, aesthetic research, expressive originality, innovation, and productive independence. The main objective of the festival is to be a privileged observatory of the new forms, perspectives, and artistic trends of "Short Cinema".
The format of the festival, structured in a wide and diversified program, provides that the screenings of the presented works are accompanied by close meetings with their authors, producers, actors in the presence of lovers of the seventh art, professionals in the film industry, industry experts and cultural operators in an informal atmosphere. Over the years the event has been enriched by a rich program of cultural activities consisting of laboratories, seminars, conferences, and workshops with universities and schools; exhibitions, masterclasses, and special events, focus on recent film productions of countries or geographical areas and on issues of pressing current events. The entrance to cultural events is free of charge. Special attention is devoted to the competitive section on environmental issues on eco-sustainability, respect for and protection of the environment, good ecological practices, and climate change.
Awards
Best international short film, best Italian short film, best short film directed/produced by an author of Campania or shot in Campania Region, best documentary, best animated short film, best environmental short film, best director, best actor, best actress, audience award. Equal first and honorable mentions are also possible. The winners will receive an acrylic or wooden trophy.
Rules
• The theme of the exhibition is consonances and dissonances in our times.
• The festival is open to international filmmakers for over 18 years.
• Short films have been produced after January 1, 2024.
• The Festival is open to short films (fiction, animation, experimental, art, and music videos) and documentaries; short movies with a maximum duration of 20 minutes (titles included), documentaries should run for no more than 30 minutes.
• Entries must be submitted in Italian or subtitled in Italian or English (.SRT file / Burnt subtitles).
• All artists working are welcome to submit up to three works for jury consideration.
• There is no entry fee for International Short Film Competition.
• The short movies and documentaries are selected at the incontestable discretion of the festival's artistic direction.
• The winners will be chosen by a jury of entertainment industry professionals and announced on the winner’s day. The jury’s choice is final.
• The audience of the Festival will vote for their favorite short film.
• The participants authorize using a fragment of his work up to 50 seconds or 10% full, for possible broadcast and promotion.
• The short films selected for the final phase of accordi @ DISACCORDI could be screened both during the next ICFF - Italian Contemporary Film Festival to be held in Canada and partner of accordi @ DISACCORDI - International Short Film Festival that in other event organized directly by the association MOVIES EVENT.
• The festival reserves the right to assign films to a different category than the one for which they were originally submitted.
• The organization assumes that participants have the right to exhibit and promote the works and material presented and disclaims any responsibility for violating these rules.
• The organizing committee reserves the right to screen the submitted works. Those selected for screening during “accordi @ DISACCORDI” will be notified at least three weeks before the event starts by e-mail (by October 10, 2025).
• If your film is SELECTED, the International Short Film Festival requires the following, to be received within two weeks of the event (by October 17, 2025) :

2. Blue Ray or Digital HD in Italian or subtitled in Italian or English (1080p, H.264, . MP4, .MOV)
3. Short synopsis
4. Director’s biography
5. Photo of the director
6. Posters, photos, and press kit of the film (cast and crew).
The participants authorize to use their name and address for all purposes related to the event, according to the law (no. 2016/679 – GDPR).
Tapes and other materials will NOT be returned and will remain in strict possession of the organization and the festival’s archive.
Entry in the competition implies acceptance of these rules and the decision by the organizing committee to resolve any incidents which may arise during the organization and duration of the Contest.
