Introduction to the film festival

We are Women Who Write in Film and our goal is to be the world’s foremost screenwriting competition for women. We want to support female writers and producers of all shapes and sizes, but we don’t just want to support female writers. We want to be a springboard for your success. We want to forge a festival that will discover and recognize the best emerging female talent and the most original female voices from around the world. We will go to the ends of the Earth to find the best new female talent and then do whatever it takes to put the top new female screenwriters firmly on the entertainment industry’s radar by designating them as finalists and winners in the Women Who Write in Film Screenwriting Competition. We award winners with software, services, and industry exposure. We are committed to getting our winners scripts read by professionals who can help you achieve your goals. 2019s winner was given a one hour private consultation with Janet Jeffries the long time development executive for Lawrence Bender Productions. Next years winner will also be awarded a one hour consultation with an industry executive that we feel can most inspire and help them get to the next level of their career and much of it will be determined by the writers needs and the genre they write in. For example, if a writer already has a manager they love, there would be little advantage in arranging a consultation for them with another talent manager. Furthermore, if our winner writes a horror film, an action flick, or even a comedy our goal would be to pair them with an executive who specializes in that genre to help further our individual winners goals. However, please do note that only our Grand Prize Winner and top two Finalists will receive industry distribution and prizes. Semi-Finalists will only be rewarded with recognition like in most screenwriting competitions.(Sfilmmaker is our exclusive platform for cooperation in China, and we look forward to your good works.)
