Nanyang Film Festival (NFF 2026) – Submission Regulations 

1. The Nanyang Film Festival (NFF 2026) is organized by Nanyang Bridge Media, in collaboration with the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF 2026). 
 

2. The festival features non-competitive sections, including retrospectives and tributes, focusing on Asian cinema (based on country of production, language, or director’s nationality). Final placement of each film will be determined by the selection committee. 

3. Films submitted on or before July 31 will receive priority consideration for potential screening at JAFF 2026, providing selected works with additional exposure to a broader international audience. 

4. Submissions are open from April 30 to August 19, 2026 via Sfilmmaker as well as through our official website www.nanyangfilmfest.com. 

5. Eligible films must be completed after January 2024, unless they are invited titles. 

6. We accept both feature films (over 45 minutes) and short films (45 minutes or under), including narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation formats. Accepted formats are physical DCP only; DVD and Blu-ray submissions will not be considered. Films with a duration of 45 minutes or under may be submitted in MP4 format only and are not required to provide a DCP. 

7. Applicants must ensure all required materials are uploaded prior to submission. Required materials include: 

- Synopsis 

- Cast and crew credits 

- Technical specifications (For details, please refer to the technical specifications for each category)  

- English/Chinese script (if available)  

- Director’s biography and filmography 

- Director photo (high resolution) 

- Minimum 3 still images 

- Festival/Awards history 

- Production/Sales/Contact details 

- Director’s statement (if available) 

- Press kit (if available) 

- Website and trailer link 

8. All films must include English subtitles unless there is no dialogue. 

9. The festival will cover outbound shipping costs only. All inbound shipments must be prepaid. 

10. Submission implies acceptance of all regulations. The festival reserves the right to resolve any matters not stated here. 

11. If selected, filmmakers must provide screening materials in required formats. Full delivery instructions will be shared upon selection. 

a. Please kindly provide us the screening copy with English subtitles in the following formats: 

For Feature Film: 

i. Quicktime format (MP4 / MOV) For Censorship Purpose: 

• Codec: H264 

• Resolution: HD 1920 × 1080 or 1280 × 720 

• Data rate — for HD: 14000 kbps (for 1920 × 1080) or 12000 kbps (for 1280 × 720) 

• Comes with English and/or Bahasa Indonesia subtitles. 

• Please submit any available SRT file (preferably English) as separate files.  

• To be uploaded via Vimeo / Baidu Cloud / WeTransfer.com / Dropbox.com / Google Drive or any other online platforms. 

ii. DCP format: Physical; Encrypted; with burnt-in English and/ Bahasa Indonesia (optional) subtitles.

For Short Film: 

i. Quicktime format in minimum HD quality: 

• Codec: H264 

• Resolution: HD 1920 × 1080 or 1280 × 720 

• Data rate — for HD: 14000 kbps (for 1920 × 1080) or 12000 kbps (for 1280 × 720) 

• Comes with English and/or Bahasa Indonesia subtitles 

• To be uploaded via Vimeo / Baidu Cloud / WeTransfer.com / Dropbox.com /  Google Drive or any other online platforms. 

ii. DCP format (Optional): Physical;Encrypted ; with burnt-in English and/ Bahasa Indonesia (optional) subtitles.

Short Drama:  

i. Short Drama Format:  

• Vertical (9:16)  

• Resolution: 1080 × 1920 (Full HD Vertical) or 2160 × 3840 (4K Vertical)  

• Codec: H.264 (.mp4 or .mov preferred)  

• Frame rate: 23.98 / 24 / 25 / 30 / 60 fps  

• Final export must be upright vertical with no horizontal black bars or letterboxing 

• Comes with English and/or Bahasa Indonesia subtitles 

• To be uploaded via Vimeo / Baidu Cloud / WeTransfer.com / Dropbox.com / Google Drive or any other online platforms. 

For Documentaries:  

i. Quicktime format in minimum HD quality:  

• Codec: H264  

• Resolution: HD 1920 × 1080 or 1280 × 720   

• Data rate — for HD: 14000 kbps (for 1920 × 1080) or 12000 kbps (for 1280 × 720) 

• Comes with English and/or Bahasa Indonesia subtitles 

• To be uploaded via Vimeo / Baidu Cloud / WeTransfer.com / Dropbox.com / Google Drive or any other online platforms.  

ii. DCP format (Optional): Physical; Encrypted; with burnt-in English and/ Bahasa Indonesia subtitles.

c. Delivery 

i. The festival accepts physical files for both feature and short film. All of the information regarding the delivery of the film will be informed following the announcement. 
 

12. Entry of the films for the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. The festival management reserves the right to regulate cases not circumscribed by these regulations.
