About the Film Festival

Salt House Creative International Film Festival, was founded by Salt House Creative Artistic Director and Australian of the Year finalist Dr. Daniel Widdowson. Screenings are held in Sydney in June every year, with monthly winners announced by the end of each month. This international film festival selects certain monthly winning films to be screened at the annual event in Sydney Australia, at Dendy Cinemas, Newtown. In the event that the Cinema is not open, e.g. COVID restrictions, then a smaller screening will be held for judges at the Salt House Creative theatre on the Central Coast. The judging panel includes Australian industry professionals from the Australian Writer's Guild, Director's Guild, renowned reviewers, and a pool of professional actors. We're extremely thankful for the high calibre of creatives who have chosen to enter this festival, having received both professional and Indie entries from 30+ countries.Sfilmmaker is our exclusive platform for cooperation in China, and we look forward to your good film.

Films entered by the end of each month will be considered for that month only. Films that win monthly awards are not guaranteed a screening. The winning films from each month go into a pool of films considered for screening at the annual event in Sydney. The films chosen for screening is at the judging panel's discretion. By submitting, you represent and warrant that you have full legal right and authority to submit the film/video project for consideration, and that all necessary consents, licensing, and approvals have been obtained with respect thereto. You agree to hold Salt House Creative and its sponsors harmless in any and all matters pertaining to the consents, licenses, and approvals of heretofore film/video project. You understand that your submission is in no way a guarantee of acceptance into the SHCIFF.
