Introduction to the film festival
The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) is presented by the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival Organizing Committee and hosted by the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival Executive Committee.
BIFAN aims to consolidate its identity as a ‘Fantastic Film Festival’ through Fantastic-Genre films and to provide a new and diverse aspect toward Genre film. BIFAN also encourages the understanding of different cultures through the art of fantastic films and facilitates exchange of ideas among film industry professionals from all around the world and those from Korea. Furthermore, the Festival promotes including but not limited to the production and distribution of fantastic films.

5. The Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF) Asian Award
The Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF) Award for Best Asian Film aims to discover and promote Asian genre films. MIFF's representative jury selects the best Asian fantastic film from contemporary genre titles that include hardcore horrors and action movies.
6. NETPAC Award
The NETPAC Award is given by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC). The NETPAC Jury Committee, composed of NETPAC members and cultural industry professionals, selects the best Asian film from genres such as sci-fi, thriller, dark comedy, whimsical feel-good comedy, and fantastic drama.
7. Odd Family Award
BIFAN Strange Children Jury Committee consists of children from Bucheon selects the Best film from ‘Odd Family ’ section
Rules
Only films that have been completed after January 1st, 2025 are eligible for submission.
Features: 50 minutes and/or more than 50 minutes of running time
Shorts: 49 minutes and/or less than 49 minutes of running time
All submitted films must satisfy at least “Korean premiere” or above condition of screening.
In case of a film’s dialogue other than English, the Screening Material MUST contain English subtitles as will be guided from the festival coordinators.
